5 Interior Design Trends That Are On The Rise

Posted by Matthew Lamanivong on Jun 19, 2017 11:50:07 AM

From new textures to high contrast colors, here are some home design trends that will shape your house in 2017.

Truly a surface you must see (and touch) to believe. This collection of quartz and natural stone presents an unparalleled color palette, flaunting depth and clarity with a three dimensional quality. With a high scratch, etch and stain resistance, this material makes a great choice for any indoor countertop. Each SatinStone slab also comes permanently sealed, adding easy cleaning and maintenance to the list of product benefits.

The Industrial Look

Industrial design is a style that has grown in recent years and the trend seems to continue rising in 2017. Characterized by details such as exposed brick, exposed pipes, rustic metals and minimal furniture, the trend is inspired by factory spaces.

One of our latest porcelain tile collections, Stage, shows a perfect example of industrial design in a residential space. Structured, corroded, dented, dull metal. Homes and entertainment venues acquire a strong character and make a strong statement with this distinctive and revolutionary style.

Clutter-Free Countertops

It all sounds so simple. That's because, it is. Having clutter-free countertops has been an emerging interior design trend. It opens up the space of a kitchen and allows the home cook to calmly prepare their food at a clear surface. Keeping countertops clutter-free allows your guests to focus more on the kitchen design. The latest options for cabinetry are developing to enable this layout, carrying various compartments and shelves for everything from seasoning to paper bags. Clear countertops can also create the illusion of a larger kitchen space, so for consumers with a smaller kitchen space it's well worth keeping it clean and minimal!

Monochrome tones

A rise in popularity of grey, black and white tones in the kitchen. It's all about high contrast. These colors can work to varying degrees, whether it's entire cabinets, countertops or appliances, or subtle hues coming through in various details and accents such as kitchen accessories. While black and white have always been popular finishes, there's also a demand for grey products surge and we expect that demand for grey surfaces of all shades, to be a key trend for 2017.

TopZero Sinks

With most remodeling projects, there are many steps to be made in design and materials. Choosing the right kitchen sink is just as important. Appearance, functionality and cost are important when choosing a sink. Top-Zero Sinks, which provide a revolutionary seamless edge, has been a popular choice for new kitchen designs.

Undermount sinks are preferred from aesthetic, hygienic and practical points of view. Even with the undermount sink, you've still got that joint between the countertop and underside. That joint is sealed to the countertop with silicone, creating a bead that's tough to keep clean. With all the moisture around the sink area, this bead can promote bacteria growth and the eventual degradation of the actual silicone.
